So, I was watching Atlanta Housewives one Sunday where they were competing against one another from the style of fashion to their angelic voices. One particular part of the show stuck out to me when one of the ladies that competed in fashion was discussing her sense of style wearing designer. It dawned on me then that fashion or a sense of style is not always wearing designer. So, today I’m here to give you tips and advice on the pros and cons of wearing designer and non – designer clothes.
The cost to be the boss
Ok, first things first, designer clothes are expensive while shopping at Neiman Marcus vs H&M is a big difference. It’s cool to have a couple of designer clothing pieces but make sure you get your monies worth before you just stop wearing it. I don’t recommend designer clothing to those who only wear something once. Hey! I’m not knocking designer clothing, but I’m here for all of the purses and shoes they offer. I’m a plus size girl; most designer clothing doesn’t have plus size clothing. Designer clothing would be my last choice of style unless it comes in my size.
Now, I do believe in getting authentic designer at a reasonable price instead of buying it directly from the designer. For instance, I would go into Dillard’s, Marshall’s, or Neiman Marcus to get it at a sale price than the full price! Always consider the reasonable way if you can than the full way!
Just think before you buy and break the bank!
True to Size?
As some people think non- designer clothes run smaller than usual. Sometimes you may have to go a size up in some clothes, because of the material used or even a certain style. Normally, I have to go a size down, but it may all be because of body size and height. Some say that designer clothing runs small also. So, if you’re like me, a plus size gal, designer clothing is not even in the plan!
Depending on what your style of clothes, designer or non- designer or even both may be the right style for you. Designer style is more elegant and branding style. Every piece of designer clothing, shoes, or accessories has a signature style or the symbol to let you know it’s a designer. With non- designer clothing you don’t have to worry about a Fendi, Gucci, or Balenciaga brand on your shirt or pants. On the other hand, with non- designer you have a choice or casualty, basic and business. The choice of style and fashion is yours!
At the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with either choice of style. It’s how you wear it. Non- designer and designer has their pros and cons. You can rock a Target or JCPenny outfit just as stylish as you can designer. I like designer clothing, but I choose not to wear them because of the sizing. I will wear designer shoes and accessories before clothing. Not saying you may never see me in some designer, but I would prefer to keep shopping at Forever21, Torrid, and some of my other favorite stores before I drop a pretty penny on some designer. Everyone has their own sense of style and fashion and it’s all with how you wear it!
Happy Styling loves!
