It’s Love, Gayla’s one-year blogiversary!!! I am so excited to be sharing my one-year blogiversary with you guys! I honestly cannot believe I made it to a year of blogging. I have learned so much through this blogging journey. This blog post is dedicated to my followers, readers, viewers, and fellow bloggers; sharing my experiences, lessons, and so much more while doing what I love to do, blogging.
A year ago today I wouldn’t believe that I would’ve gotten this far into blogging. I published my first blog post (read here) on October 23, 2018. I know, I know, I may be a little off date, but I MADE IT! Looking back on my first blog post, I can definitely agree I’ve learned and grown a lot. My second blog post was posted on November 4, 2018, that was a Fashion blog on the Fall Fashion must-haves. You can read that blog here.
Now when you blog, you set goals for yourself and challenge yourself to be the best you can be. I can say I could have been more consistent and educate myself with blogging e-courses and such. During my blogging journey, I did exceed my own expectations.
What I’ve Learned
- Consistency is important. I still lack in some areas of being consistent with certain areas of blogging. I have to discipline myself to get into the habit of planning and creating my content ahead of time. When I first started blogging, I promised I would post one to two blog posts each week. I did and then eventually became too comfortable. Consistency is very important especially being a blogger.
- Don’t ever compare yourself. I often caught myself wanting to be where other flourished and seasoned bloggers were in their blogging career. I had to tell myself that blogging is definitely a process and requires a lot of patience.
- Your blog is yours! This sorta goes in hand with comparison, BUT who cares cause it’s my blog.
- Never underestimate yourself! Some days I had doubts that I wasn’t good enough. I underestimated myself with comparison, fear, and doubt. I overcame that with my confidence and encouragement from my family and fellow bloggers.
Besides blogging a full year, I’ve grown tremendously as a young lady and a person. I tend to look at the big picture and details more than ever. I’ve met so many people that have grown to friendships. On the other hand, I have worked with Basic Invite as far as publishing them a blog post. I’m also in the process of working with Smile Brilliant. I couldn’t be any thankful for them giving a beginner blogger like me a chance.
Being a blogger requires a lot of patience, consistency, and laughter. When you have a blog or business, you have to stay true to yourself. Also, having a strong and motivational support system is important cause you will have your days that you are doubtful or hesitant. So, you have to make sure your good outweighs your bad and last but not least, HAVE FUN!!
Thank you for being apart of Love, Gayla and growing with me each day!
Love, Gayla 💕
